Conditions /D&D 2024
Exhaustion X
Levels 1–6. A flat penalty that grows, and level 6 kills you.
Exhaustion has a numeric value — written as Exhaustion 1, Exhaustion 2 and so on. The value is the size of the effect.
What it does
- You take a −2 penalty per level of exhaustion to d20 tests (ability checks, attack rolls and saving throws).
- Your speed is reduced by 5 feet per level.
- At level 6, you die.
How it ends
A long rest removes one level. Exhaustion is fully removed only by reaching level 0.
At the table
The 2024 version is much simpler than the 2014 table of six different effects — it is now one scaling penalty. Anyone who learned the old table will apply the wrong thing.
