Sickened X

Like Frightened, but it does not go away on its own — you must Retch.

Sickened has a numeric value — written as Sickened 1, Sickened 2 and so on. The value is the size of the effect.

What it does

  • Status penalty equal to the value on all your checks and DCs.
  • You cannot willingly ingest anything — no potions, no elixirs, no food or drink.

How it ends

Retch: spend a single action and attempt a Fortitude save against the DC of the effect that sickened you. Success reduces the value by 1, critical success by 2. Nothing limits you to one Retch per turn.

At the table

The ingestion restriction decides more fights than the numeric penalty. Sickened 1 on the character holding the healing elixir is a shutdown, not a debuff. Note the source DC when it lands — working it out three rounds later is where tables lose time.
