Frightened X
Status penalty to every check and DC, which ticks down on its own.
Frightened has a numeric value — written as Frightened 1, Frightened 2 and so on. The value is the size of the effect.
What it does
- Status penalty equal to the value on all your checks and DCs.
- Stacks with nothing — only the highest status penalty applies.
How it ends
Decreases by 1 automatically at the end of each of your turns, unless the effect says otherwise.
At the table
It is the only common debuff that fixes itself, which is exactly why stacking it high is less valuable than it looks. Frightened 3 is usually Frightened 1 two turns later whether you do anything or not.
